Job Description
The role of the Patient Account Representative (PAR) is to provide ""Extraordinary Care"" to patients and customers through friendly, caring, courteous, and professional services as they maintain patient accounts from billing through the collections process.
A successful PAR becomes the patient's advocate and works to facilitate resolution of patient accounts by working with insurance companies, government agencies and patients in the payment for services that have been provided. The PAR has the opportunity to use their valuable skills and resources by responding to questions, researching discrepancies and insurance denials and following Intermountain's policies and procedures for billing and account management. Completing these duties provides the PAR the opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of many on a daily basis.

Minimum Requirements
The incumbent must demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal relation skills
Demonstrated computer experience using word processing and data entry software.
Typing/keyboarding speed 30 wpm plus 10 key by touch .
Physical Requirements
Seeing, speaking, listening/hearing and manual dexterity
Preferred Qualifications
Typing/keyboarding speed 45 wpm
One or more years of work experience in a medical setting
One or more years of medical insurance billing experience
One or more years of collections work experience
Intermediate proficiency with Medical Terminology
Previous work experience with CPT and ICD 9

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
