Roles and
Responsibilities:
Oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of the shipping dock.
Coordinate shipping functions and assignments with other shipping management team members Customer Scorecard Meeting Involvement and Compliance Improvement Tasks as determined Manage shipping orders and invoices Monitors freight movement using various computer software applications.
Coordinates with production planning team to plan deliveries for the next day.
Drafts and distributes driver schedules, staff schedules, shifts, and tasks Inventory reconciliation Supervise shipping staff Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy Communicate status of operation in a timely manner to management, including safety and processes Hire and train staff Manage Standard Work Daily Check List and Cadence task assignments Other duties as assigned Competencies:
Must have knowledge of pricing and shipping turnaround times Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Good interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Proven ability to meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Good problem-solving Strong leadership skills Able to multitask Work well under pressure and focused in midst of noise Technical shipping knowledge Computer competency to monitor and maintain records and inventory.
Experience and Education:
High School diploma or GED 2
years of domestic shipping experience Some leadership experience preferred Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time Prolonged periods of sitting Job required excellent vision Must be able to walk around the warehouse Must be able to perform basic physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs.
