6K a year 4 days ago 4 days ago 4 days ago JOB PURPOSE The Packaging Team Lead performs a variety of lead worker, semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to company policies, packaging equipment, procedures, processes, and documentation.
The Team Lead also performs other duties as assigned to help expedite the day-to-day packaging of various Modere products.
The Team Lead leads and coordinates the work of employees running the production equipment.
Assists in preparation of work schedules and assigns duties.
The Team Lead provides close to general supervision to the Machine Operators and Line Workers on one or more production/packaging line(s).

Complete all general, area specific or safety training listed on Employee Training Path.

provide training to Machine Operators and Line Workers on equipment and operations pertaining to their area of responsibility.
Lead production lines.
Backup for Packaging Supervisor in their absence.
Assist Packaging Supervisor in improving production systems, safety, quality control and performance management.
Provide general motivation to the work team.
Circulate throughout area of responsibility as needed to help resolve problems, maintain effective employee and coworker relations, conduct routine training.
Participate in employee evaluation process.
May make recommendations affecting advancement and discipline.
Responsible for filling out work orders, incident reports, purchase orders as needed to assist supervisor with these processes.
Prepare activity plans for assigned production line(s) and manages line priorities.
Communicate production line needs and issues to supervisors, managers, and support groups.
Responsible for accuracy of documentation of various forms required for area of operation including Packaging Batch Records, Area Clear, Initial Verifications, In Process Checks, Warehouse Returns & Cleaning and Usage Logs.
Set the pace for team and monitor processes to meet production goals and objectives.
Monitor products and components needed in the production process, coordinates, and expedites materials as needed.
Monitor and perform daily assigned machine setup processes; examine machine components for proper operation and maintenance; may make minor adjustments to various components of the machine to assure proper operation; apprise maintenance personnel, directly or through supervisors of needed repair or replacement.
Responsible for keeping supervision informed of problems or concerns with line or component issues throughout the shift.
Monitor cleaning processes to ensure the procedures are being performed accurately.
Coordinate with Quality Assurance personnel or Qualified Production Personnel daily as needed to receive authorization for operation and production; assure timely certification that equipment and machines have been cleaned and readied for new runs to prevent product contamination and rejections.
Complete cycle counts and end of month order closing.
Input various production reports, SOP drafting and training, draft IQ/OQ/PQ and execute.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS High school graduation or equivalent plus four years of work experience performing above or related duties.
Completing of Packaging Team Leader Training Path or an equivalent combination of education and experience plus knowledge of all packaging lines in the plant.
Some knowledge of production and manufacturing machine operations, quality control systems, inventory control methods and practices, including part and product codes and numbers.
OSHA/safety practices.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and perform routine mathematical calculations.
Ability to work under stress created by work pace requirements, deadlines, and changes in project priorities.
Able to make decisions and effectively solve problems, give verbal instructions to complete tasks.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with department heads, supervisors, team leaders, and coworkers.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
